What is Suntex Marinas?
SUNTEX MARINA is the leading owner, operator and developer of high-quality coastal and inland marina properties located throughout the United States. Led by a management team with more than 100 years combined experience investing in, acquiring, and operating marinas, Suntex currently employs more than 60 people in its corporate office and over 1200 on-site at its marinas. We operate Liberty Landing Marina in Jersey City, NJ and Marina Jack in Sarasota, FL, both of which have been awarded “Marina of the Year” by Marina Dock Age, so we fully understand the intricacies of operating world class marina facilities.

Is Suntex Marinas a "Clean Marina"?
We believe that marina owners and operators should serve our industry as good stewards of the aquatic marine environment. We have chosen to lead by example. We voluntarily initiated and implemented a set of environmental Best Management Practices (BMP) designed by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection to preserve Florida's waterways. These BMPs address critical environmental issues such as sensitive habitat, waste management, storm water control, spill prevention, and emergency preparedness.
Do you have wet slips?
Yes. We have 143 wet slips and can accommodate boats up to 60 feet. Of our 143 wet slips, we have 22 premier slips that are covered.
What is the depth of the marina or approach to the marina at low tide?
Depth of the marina basin is 5 to 8 feet.
Does your marina have WiFi (internet access) on the docks?
Yes, this marina offers OnSpot Wireless Internet service on the docks.
Do you have dry storage?
Yes. We offer 327 hurricane-rated dry storage racks, accommodating boats up to 45 feet and a maximum of 30,000 pounds.
Do you rent boats?
No. We do not rent boats at this marina.
What are the hours for Suntex Marina - St Petersburg?
We are open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., seven days a week.
What do I do if there is an after-hours emergency?
First call 911, then you can call any of the following: Coast Guard (727-896-6137) or Channel 16 VHF and/or the Suntex Marina harbormaster's office (727-867-2600). The harbormaster will be contacted.
What is the closest airport?
We are conveniently located within reasonable driving distance to four international airports. The closet airport is St. Petersburg-Clearwater International Airport, which is about 25 minutes away. Tampa International Airport is a quick trip across the bay, about 35 minutes away. A 50-minute drive south is the Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport, and Orlando International Airport is a 90-minute drive.
Do you allow liveaboards?
Yes, we allow liveaboards.
Do you offer new or used boat sales?
We do not offer new or used boat sales at Suntex Marina - St. Petersburg. Please feel free, however, to contact our harbormaster for assistance regarding sales, boat rentals, charters, or other leasing opportunities.
Do you sell gas or diesel?
Yes. We use high-speed pumps with ValvTect marine-specific, 90 octane non-ethanaol gasoline and low-sulfur diesel.
Do you sell bait?
Are there any good fishing locations near you?
Fishing in the Greater Tampa Bay area is one of the greatest spots on the West Coast of Florida. Some popular hot spots include the Skyway Channel, Fort De Soto, and Egmont Key. North, within 45 minutes of our marina, you will find Caledesi and Honeymoon islands. Inshore fishing catches include snook, trout, redfish, snapper, croaker, and tarpon. Offshore fishing in the Florida Middle Grounds in the Gulf of Mexico, 60 to 80 miles west of Suntex Marina - St. Petersburg, produces catches such as grouper, kingfish, cobia, and pompano.
Do you have on-site pump-out service? How do I arrange for pump-out service?
Yes. We have a complimentary pump-out service for our members located at our fuel dock. Call our harbormaster's office to make arrangements. There may be a charge for the general public.
How far away is the beach?
There are several beaches all along the Gulf of Mexico within 3 miles.
Are there any beaches or islands nearby that we can drop anchor and swim?
Yes. Egmont Key and Shell Island are 30 to 45 minutes away. Also, Pass-A-Grille Beach, and Caladesi and Honeymoon islands are 30 to 60 minutes away.
Are there any areas close by to go water skiing?
Yes. The Intracoastal Waterway is ideal for water-skiing and Jet Skis.
Are there any restaurants on the water that I can get to?
Yes. The Sand Bar Restaurant at Structure E Bridge, and Billy's Moorings located 1 mile before the Fort De Soto entrance.
Are there any fixed bridges in the area? If so, what is the height limits?
Yes. A fixed bridge is located at our marina entrance with a 21-foot clearance.
